Onion And Fennel Soup Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. margarine
    `1 1/2 c. chopped onions
    1/2 c. chopped fennel
    1 packet instant onion broth and seasoning mix, dissolved in 3/4 c. warm water
    dash of white pepper
    2 (1 oz.) slices French bread, toasted
    1 1/2 oz. reduced fat Swiss cheese, shredded
Preparation
    In 1 quart nonstick saucepan, melt margarine; add onions and fennel.
    Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until onions are translucent, about 2 minutes.
    Add 1/2 cup water, the dissolved broth mix and pepper; bring mixture to a boil.
    Reduce heat to low and let simmer until flavors blend, about 15 minutes.
