Chess Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    3 egg yolks
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg white
    uncooked pastry shell for 9-inch pie
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cream sugar and butter as for making cake.
    Add egg yolks and white and beat well.
    Add water and vanilla and beat again.
    Pour into a pie plate lined with pastry and bake until filling sets, about 35 minutes.
    Serves 6 to 8.
