Short-Cut Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    3 (1 lb.) cans baked beans
    2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    1/2 c. maple syrup
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/4 lb. salt pork
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    In hot butter in small skillet, saute onions until tender, about 5 minutes.
    In 2-quart casserole or bean pot, combine onion with rest of ingredients, except salt pork; mix well. Make cuts in salt pork every 1/2 inch.
    Place in center of beans.
    Bake, covered, 1 1/2 hours; stir occasionally. Makes 8 servings.
