Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. Great Northern beans (soak overnight and rinse)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 medium onion, diced
    3/4 lb. slab bacon
    8 to 10 oz. ketchup
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook beans until soft, not mushy. Put all, including juice, in roaster and mix (if too much juice, add gradually).
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 2 hours, covered.
    Stir and check every 1/2 hour.
    To brown, bake, uncovered, last 1/2 hour.
