Marie'S Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. black beans
    1 qt. water
    salt and pepper
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    small pieces of bacon
    1 onion
    1 kernel garlic
    1 bay leaf
    1 green pepper
Preparation
    First, soak beans overnight.
    Boil with full quart of hot water.
    Fry chopped onion, garlic, chopped green pepper and bacon. Add to beans; salt and pepper to taste.
    Do not salt until tender.
    Add mixture to beans, which should have some liquid, and let simmer for 1 hour.
