Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c. light molasses
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation

Sift flour; measure and resift 3 times with next 4 ingredients.
Cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add molasses; beat well.
Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Add flour mixture; beat until smooth.
Pour into 8-inch square pan or 7 x 11 1/2-inch oblong pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream.
