Chess Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks oleo
    1 box light brown sugar
    4 eggs, one at a time
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Melt on low heat the oleo and light brown sugar.
    Remove from heat; put in mixing bowl and beat in, in this order: 1/2 cup sugar, 4 eggs (one at a time), flour mixture, vanilla and pecans. Cut into bars while warm and roll in powdered sugar.
    Keeps well in airtight container.
