Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1/4 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    1 c. whole kernel corn
    2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    sharp Cheddar cheese slices
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients, except cheese slices.
    Put 1/2 of batter in greased pan.
    Arrange slices on top of this.
    Cover with remaining batter, making sure all the cheese is well covered. Cook at 450\u00b0 until done.
