Cucumber Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sour cream
    black pepper
    1 large white onion, sliced
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Arrange cucumber slices in large, shallow dish.
    Sprinkle with salt between layers.
    Place plate over them with a weight to hold it down.
    Let stand at room temperature about 2 hours.
    Squeeze out liquid with hands, combine with other ingredients and chill several hours before serving.
    Excellent with beef.
    More onion may be added, if desired.
