Ribbon Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon Jell-O
    1 (1 lb.) can fruit cocktail
    1/4 c. cold water
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    1 1/2 c. small curd cottage cheese
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin
Preparation
    Prepare lemon Jell-O according to package directions.
    Pour into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Chill until set.
    Drain fruit cocktail, reserving syrup.
    Place syrup in a saucepan.
    Bring to a boil; remove from heat.
    Combine cold water and unflavored gelatin.
    When gelatin is softened, add to hot syrup.
    Stir until gelatin is completely dissolved.
    Add cottage cheese.
    Add drained fruit cocktail.
    Mix well.
    Spoon over chilled lemon gelatin. Chill until set.
    Prepare strawberry gelatin according to directions.
    Pour over cottage cheese mixture.
    Chill until set. Unmold onto lettuce-lined serving platter.
    Makes 8 servings.
