Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
5 1/2 c. flour (plain)
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs to mixture.
Combine flour and baking powder.
Add to butter mixture alternately with milk.
Add flavoring and mix well.
Place dough on floured board and knead to cutting consistency.
(Add up to 1/4 cup flour, if needed.)
Roll dough to 1/2-inch thick and cut as biscuits.
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 3 dozen.
