Orange Liqueur - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 orange rinds, pared very thinly
    3 c. vodka
    1 1/2 c. sugar (superfine)
Preparation
    With no white on the rind, blot dry with paper towels.
    Put rind into a quart jar.
    Add 2 cups of vodka, screw on top and store for 2 days in a cool, dark place.
    Remove peel, add sugar and shake until sugar dissolves.
    Add 1 cup vodka and stir.
    Close jar and store again for 1 week at least.
