Stay-Crisp Vegetable Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    3/4 c. cold water
    8 c. shredded cabbage
    2 carrots, shredded
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 green pepper, cut into strips
    2/3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    2/3 c. salad oil
Preparation
    Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water.
    Mix vegetables; sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cold water.
    Mix sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper.
    Bring to a boil.
    Stir in gelatin and cool until slightly thickened; beat well.
    Gradually beat in oil.
    Drain vegetables.
    Add dressing and toss until coated.
    It will keep for a few days in refrigerator.
