Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 egg whites
    2 c. sugar
    2 pkg. Club crackers
    2 cans cherry or blueberry pie filling
    3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    Cool Whip
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
    Add cream of tartar. Gradually add sugar.
    Continue beating until stiff peaks form. Add vanilla.
    Break crackers into large pieces and fold in.
    Add nuts.
    Pour into baking dish and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Spread pie filling over cooled cake.
    Cut into servings and top with Cool Whip or any whipped cream.
