Icebox Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. butter
    1/4 lb. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. rum
    1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail or peaches
    1 Entennman's pound cake
    1 can Nestle heavy cream, chilled
    maraschino cherries for garnish
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add vanilla, eggs, Nestle cream and rum.
    Throw off excess water from cream after chilling.
    Take 1/3 of mixture, mix with peaches or fruit cocktail.
    Dice cake; place 1/2 layer on bottom of dish.
    Pour fruit on top of cake.
    Add rest of cake on top.
    Pour rest of cream on top of cake.
    Garnish with cherries or crushed nuts.
    Place in refrigerator to chill and serve.
