"More!" Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground turkey or beef
    1 large onion, pureed in blender
    2 green peppers (optional)
    1 Tbsp. sea salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening (optional)
    2 tsp. oregano
    1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes, pureed
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 pkg. frozen corn (2 c.)
    1 pkg. frozen peas
    1 pkg. frozen beans
    8 oz. pkg. noodles
    1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
Preparation
    Cook meat in shortening until it turns white.
    Add onion, peppers (optional), salt, oregano, tomatoes, chili powder and vegetables.
    Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
    Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and combine with meat mixture.
    Spoon mixture into two 2-quart baking dishes and cover evenly with shredded cheese.
    Bake covered at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes. Yields 9 to 12 servings.
    Better made 24 to 36 hours before cooking to season.
