Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. squash
    1 medium onion
    1/2 stick butter
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 small can water chestnuts
    1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 small jar pimentos
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 egg
Preparation
    Cook squash and onion until tender; drain and mash well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cook 30 to 45 minutes at 375\u00b0. I usually use more squash and use 3/4 to 1 cup of other ingredients.
