Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. vanilla cake mix
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. coconut
    1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
    2 c. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Prepare cake according to package directions in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cool 15 minutes.
    While cake cools, bring to a boil in medium saucepan, the milk, sugar and 1/2 cup of the coconut.
    Boil 5 minutes.
    Punch holes in cake with fork and spoon hot coconut milk over cake.
    Cool completely.
