Pickle Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. onion
    1 medium cabbage
    10 green tomatoes
    12 green hot peppers
    6 red sweet peppers
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    6 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1-1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Grind vegetables using a coarse blade.
    Sprinkle with salt. Let stand overnight.
    (Do not use aluminum pot.)
    Rinse and drain next day.
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over mixture. Heat to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
    Seal in sterilized jars.
    Makes 8 pints
