Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 qt. sliced cucumbers
9 small onions
2 green peppers
1/2 c. salt
1 pt. cider vinegar
4 c. sugar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. turmeric powder
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. mixed pickling spice
Preparation

Slice cucumbers, onions and peppers.
Place in large crock. Sprinkle salt over vegetables and cover with water.
Soak in crock overnight.
Drain. Combine vinegar, sugar, celery seed, turmeric powder, mustard seed and spice in a large kettle.
Bring to a boil.
Put drained vegetables in syrup and cook 20 minutes. Pack into hot, sterilized jars and seal.
