Tortilla Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. rich chicken broth
    1 (10 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1/2 clove garlic, minced
    3/4 Tbsp. salt
    1 (10 oz.) can cream-style corn
    8 oz. American cheese, shredded
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1/2 c. water
    3/4 lb. ground beef
    1/3 c. white onion, finely chopped
    1 doz. corn tortillas, cut into strips
Preparation
    Bring chicken broth to a boil.
    Crush the tomatoes by hand and add, with juice, to broth.
    Add cumin, garlic, salt, pepper, corn and cheese.
