Sweet And Sour Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 head red cabbage, shredded (about 3 lb.)
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. Log Cabin syrup
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter in large heavy saucepan until tender. Add cabbage; cook and stir until softened.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Bring to boil.
    Cover and simmer about 1 1/4 hours, or until very tender.
    Makes about 4 1/2 cups or 8 servings.
