Peanut Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
48 chocolate star candies

Preparation

Combine all ingredients except candy in large mixing bowl. Mix on low speed until dough forms ball.
Add a little milk if too dry.
Chill.
Shape dough into balls.
Roll into sugar.
Place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden.
Press candy in center of cookie immediately after removing from oven.
Cookies will be cracked looking.
