Mom'S Apple Cobbler - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. finely chopped apples
Preparation

Melt butter in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
In a pan, combine sugar and water.
Cut shortening into flour until fine. Add milk; mix until a ball forms.
Roll out into a rectangle. Sprinkle cinnamon over apples, then spread over dough.
Roll up dough (like a jelly roll).
Slice dough into 16 slices, 1/2-inch thick.
Place in pan with melted butter.
Pour sugar syrup carefully around rolls.
Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
Can be made with other fruits.
