Oriental Peas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, cooked
    1 c. sliced water chestnuts
    1 c. fresh bean sprouts
    4 Tbsp. butter
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. milk
    1 c. heavy cream
    1 tsp. salt
    frozen French fried onion rings, cooked
Preparation
    Melt butter; stir in flour.
    Gradually add milk and cream, whisking constantly.
    With pan on high heat, stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil and is smooth.
    Simmer, still stirring 2 to 3 minutes longer or until the sauce coats the wires of the whisk heavily.
    Remove from heat; season with salt.
