Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. lard
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    6 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream lard and sugars.
    Beat eggs, 1 at a time, into mixture. Add vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients all together.
    Add milk.
    Put all together and mix.
    Dough will be stiff.
    Chill for 1 hour or overnight.
    Roll into balls the size of walnuts, press with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
    May be divided into 3 portions to which can be added nuts, raw peanuts, coconut or chocolate chips.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes a large batch of dough.
