Apricot Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    pinch of salt
    12 oz. apricot preserves
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Butter and flour 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Mix first 8 ingredients together and spread into pan.
    Cover with apricot preserves.
    Beat egg whites and sugar until stiff and spread over apricot preserves.
    Top with nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
