My Mother-In-Law'S German Chocolate Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can evaporated milk
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 to 1 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 egg yolks
    1 stick margarine
    1 c. coconut
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks; add milk, sugar and butter.
    Cook until thick (about 12 minutes).
    Take off heat; add remaining ingredients. Cool before putting on cake.
    (This is delicious on Duncan Hines German chocolate cake mix.)
