Corn Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 c. white cornmeal
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/4 c. milk
    3 to 4 Tbsp. oil
    2 well beaten eggs
Preparation
    Add cornmeal to
    water
    in
    saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
    Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
    Add to cornmeal mixture alternating sifted dry ingredients
    and
    milk;
    stir
    with large spoon.
    Stir in oil, then
    add
    eggs.
    Stir
    well and fry like you would pancakes.
    I use
    a
    ladle to dip batter out.
    Serve with butter and your favorite syrup.
