Easy Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans cherry pie filling (or any kind pie filling)
    1 box white or yellow cake mix
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    whipped cream (optional)
Preparation
    Butter 9 x 13-inch cake pan; put pie filling evenly over bottom of pan.
    Cover with dry cake mix.
    Slice 1/4 pound butter over top of cake mix.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 until bubbly and brown.
    May be served with whipped topping.
