Ingredients

1/2 c. walnuts (if desired)
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, separated
2 tsp. vanilla
2 sticks margarine
1 c. milk
1 box 10x sugar
Preparation

Separate egg yolks and whites.
Cream the shortening and add sugar, egg yolks, vanilla and flour (a little at a time).
Add milk slowly.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold in batter. Butter and flour tube pan.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
