Blackberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. blackberries (fresh or canned; if canned, drain juice from them)
    2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 c. buttermilk mixed with 1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
    Set aside.
    Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs, blackberries and buttermilk mixture, mix well.
    Add flour mixture and blend well.
    Put in loaf or round cake pans.
    Bake until tests done with a toothpick (approximately 60 minutes).
