Old Fashioned Pumpkin Marmalade - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pumpkin to give 4 lb., cubed
    4 lb. sugar
    3 lemons
    1 orange
Preparation
    Peel pumpkin and cut in small cubes, discarding seeds and inner pulp.
    Add sugar and let stand overnight.
    Put lemons and orange through food grinder, discarding seeds, but reserving all juice.
    Add to pumpkin.
    Stir over low heat until boiling.
    Simmer until thick and clear, about 3 hours.
    Stir frequently to prevent scorching.
    Pack in hot sterilized jars and process.
    Makes about 4 pints.
