Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour

Preparation

Place cocoa and baking soda in separate cups and mix each with a little hot water.
In a large bowl, combine sugar, shortening and eggs.
Mix well. Add buttermilk, cocoa and baking soda mixture.
Add vanilla.
Mix in flour until smooth. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
