Fried Mushrooms Parmesan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of garlic powder
    1 c. cold water
    2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    2 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1/4-inch thick
Preparation
    Heat 2 or 3 inches of shortening in deep frying pan.
    Combine flour, cheese, salt and garlic powder in medium bowl.
    Stir in water, 2 tablespoons melted shortening and egg.
    Beat until smooth.
    Dip mushrooms in batter, drain off excess.
    Fry in heated shortening, about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
    Turn as needed for even browning.
    Remove and drain on paper towels.
    Salt lightly.
    Serve immediately.
