Marinated Mushrooms 2 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    3 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. tomato sauce
    1/4 c. dry white wine
    1/4 c. water
    2 cloves
    1/8 tsp. saffron
    salt
    freshly ground pepper
    1/2 lb. very small mushrooms, washed and stems removed
Preparation
    Heat the oil in a small, deep casserole and saute the onion and garlic until onion is transparent.
    Stir in tomato sauce, wine, water, cloves, saffron, salt and pepper.
    Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes, adding more water, if necessary.
    Add the mushrooms to the cooking liquid and simmer 5 minutes more.
    Turn off heat, cover and let cool.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Serve cold or at room temperature.
