Ginger Drop Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    confectioners sugar icing
    1 tsp. baking soda
    5 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg, beating well.
    Add molasses.
    Dissolve soda in 1 cup hot water.
    Add alternately with salt, ginger and flour to egg mixture.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 15 minutes.
    Frost with confectioners sugar icing.
