Louisiana Beans And Rice(Serve As A Side Dish Or In Larger Servings As A Main Dish.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 large green pepper, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves, crushed
    1/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves, crushed
    2 cans (16 oz. each) red beans or pinto beans
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
    1 c. diced cooked ham or smoked sausage
    1/4 tsp. ground pepper (cayenne)
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    In a 2-quart microwave-safe casserole dish, combine oil, onion, green pepper, garlic, thyme and oregano.
    Cover with lid; microwave on High for 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring once during cooking.
    Stir in beans, soup, ham and red pepper.
    Cover; microwave on High for 5 minutes or until hot. Stir.
    Reduce power to 50%.
    Cover; microwave 15 minutes or until flavors are blended.
    Serve over rice.
    Makes about 5 cups or 5 servings.
