Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. crispy rice cereal
1 c. salted peanuts
Preparation

Cream shortening and slowly add brown sugar; beat well.
Add eggs and beat well.
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture mixing well.
Stir in oats, cereal and nuts.
(Dough will be stiff.) Drop by teaspoon onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cook on wire rack.
Yields: 7 dozen.
