German Chocolate Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    14 oz. bag caramels (light)
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    3/4 c. butter, melted
    1 c. chopped pecans
    6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    In heavy saucepan, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk; cook over low heat.
    Stir constantly until caramels melt; set side.
    Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
    In large bowl, combine dry cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and nuts. Stir by hand until dough holds together.
    Press 1/2 dough mixture into pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
    Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust.
    Spread caramel mixture over chocolate chips; crumble remaining dough over caramel mixture.
    Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes.
    Cool slightly.
    Refrigerate for 30 minutes in pan.
    Cut into bars and wrap.
    Makes approximately 24 bars.
