Candied Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cucumbers
    1 c. salt
    11 c. water
    2 Tbsp. alum
    1 gal. water
    apple cider vinegar
    sugar
Preparation
    Drain off alum water.
    Cover with apple cider vinegar and let stand
    24 hours.
    Add to this 3 cups sugar for 3 mornings.
    Put in jars and seal.
    Do not heat anything.
