German Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    2 Tbsp. pickling spices, in cloth bag
    6 c. medium shredded cabbage
    1 large onion, cut in thin slices and separated (set aside)
Preparation
    Boil all the ingredients 15 minutes except cabbage and onion. Remove spice bag.
    Let mixture cool 15 to 20 minutes.
    Pour over cabbage and onion.
    Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours before serving.
