Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Cream the sugar and shortening.
Beat in molasses and egg.
Mix well.
Add coconut and nuts; mix well. Drop on greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool slightly and remove from cookie sheet.
Yields 30 cookies.
