Barry'S Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. white granulated sugar
    1 large can evaporated milk
    1 stick margarine/butter
    1 Tbsp. vanilla extract (imitation)
    2 c. chopped fresh pecans
Preparation
    Put 3/4 cup of dry sugar in a medium saucepan. Heat on medium-high until sugar melts and turns a rich brown (beer bottle brown). After sugar has melted and turned brown, add evaporated milk, being careful not to let it boil over. Once it settles down, add remaining ingredients and heat to \"soft-ball\" stage, about 20 minutes on medium-high heat (electric stove) and close to high heat on a gas stove.
