Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine
1 c. applesauce
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
2 c. dates
2 c. nuts
1 c. candied fruit
1 tsp. vanilla (if desired)
Preparation

Cream together sugar and margarine.
Dissolve soda into a little warm water and then into applesauce, letting it foam over the other ingredients.
Beat and add flour, fruit and nuts. Batter to hold it together.
Bake 45 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
