Pears Preserve Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. pear preserves
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs and beat.
    Add vanilla, allspice and flour.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Fold in preserves and add pecans.
    Pour into tube pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
