Amish Rhubarb Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. raw rhubarb, diced
2/3 c. liquid shortening
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

In a bowl, blend all ingredients together.
Pour into 2 well-greased and floured 8 x 4-inch loaf pans.
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup sugar (either white or brown) and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine.
Sprinkle the mixture over unbaked bread. Bake in a preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 45 to 60 minutes or until firm to touch.
