Grandma'S Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    about 1/2 loaf Italian bread, cut into 1-inch chunks (4 c.)
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1/4 c. dark seedless raisins
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, cut up
    ground cinnamon
    half and half (optional)
Preparation
    About

    before
    serving,
    grease
    1-quart casserole; set aside.
    In medium bowl with wire whisk or fork, beat milk, sugar, vanilla, salt and eggs until well mixed; add bread, raisins and butter.
    Toss
    until
    bread is well coated. Sprinkle mixture lightly
    with
    cinnamon.
    Bake
    in
    preheated 300\u00b0 oven for 55 to 60 minutes, until knife inserted in center of pudding comes out clean.
    If
    you like, serve with half and half. Makes 4 servings.
