Candy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 large cucumbers
    2 c. lime
    3 c. vinegar
    1/2 oz. red food coloring
    1 Tbsp. alum
    8 to 10 c. sugar
    12 oz. pkg. red hot candy
    5 sticks cinnamon
Preparation
    Day 1:
    Peel 15 large cucumbers.
    Cut into 1/2-inch thick slices.
    Remove center for ring.
    Put in lime water (8 1/2 quarts water, 2 cups lime).
    Let stand 24 hours.
    Stir occasionally as lime settles.
