Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Prepare beets by boiling for approximately 20 minutes with 3 inch of top and roots still on.
    Drain and place in cold water. Slip skins off; trim top and roots.
    If small, leave whole.
    If not, slice and place in clean jars.
